Each year, SaskMusic takes a look at upcoming national and international export opportunities and plans to participate strategically in a number of events. We have an export strategy wherein our goal is to bring the music of Saskatchewan to export markets where we see the best potential for positive outcomes. Often, our choice to participate in an event is impacted by the event organizers' selection of official showcase artists from Saskatchewan, or our ability to partner with other Canadian music industry associations (MIAs) to maximize our impact while sharing costs.
The following are events we anticipate participating in during our 2023-2024 fiscal year*. While it is subject to change with new event information, showcase approvals, or funding availability, it should provide a good starting point as to our plans.
- If you are a Sask artist or label who is exporting or planning to export - or who wants to know what 'export readiness' means and how to work towards it - please give us a shout!
- If you are a Sask artist or label who is accepted for an official showcase at these or any other national or international music events, please let us know as soon as you hear as we may be able to help coordinate supports on the ground. Grant funding is typically available for artists who are selected for official showcases, and we can provide direction/grant reviews.
