Born out of the fight for equal rights for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, Pride is a global month of action and celebration, with communities across Canada participating in events taking place annually in June.
SaskMusic is working on a one-hour PRIDE 2022 radio show to celebrate Saskatchewan artists who are part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. All musical styles will be considered.
Hosted and curated by Regina artist Zochi, thank you to 91.3FM CJTR Regina Community Radio and 90.5 CFCR Saskatoon Community Radio who will be broadcasting the show this month:
- CJTR Saturday June 11, 7-8pm
- CFCR Thursday June 16, 630-730pm
Zochi is a Regina-based singer and songwriter, who takes pride currently in expressing herself in/with different sounds of music/genres like hip hop, Afro beats, jazz to name a few, aligning it with new school/ a new school feel. She calls herself a contemporary gospel artist. Heavy on the contemporary because she identifies as part of the LGBTQ+ community. Seeking to express God's love through her music while being authentic to the core of her being.
In addition to the radio show we have compiled Spotify and YouTube playlists.
Some songs will also be selected for individual Feature spots on our social media. You can submit here:
