Artificial Lift won the Lions Clubs Border Bike Rally’s first Battle of the Bands July 25 in Lloydminster. They received a cash prize and opening spot for Wide Mouth Mason & Big Sugar. A feature on the band was included in Belgium/UK’s “Fireworks” magazine’s July issue (the best of current and upcoming Melodic Hard-Rock bands from all over the world). A 3-piece rock & roll band from Lloydminster, Artificial Lift started as a jam band in February 2013 under the moniker Biggs Hosan. Deriving influence from such genres as death metal, prog rock, blues, and country & western, the guys have honed their skills into a modern rock sound. Their first release, “Ominous EP” came out earlier this year.
