Exile Off Main St.: Random Dispatches from the Saskatoon Music Scene is a recent book about the Saskatoon music scene past and present, written by media personality and local music writer Craig Silliphant, with help from a host of other local music writers and musicians. It’s part history, part memoir, and chock full of essays and interviews. From underground indie music to Saskatoon’s blues, jazz, and the symphony, the book is a humourous, rock n’ roll snapshot of what music means to people growing up in the middle of nowhere. Copies are currently available at Beaumont Film & Record, The Vinyl Diner and McNally Robinson Booksellers, Saskatoon (to order from elsewhere, visit http://www.mcnallyrobinson.com/9781479195527/craig-silliphant/exile-main-str#.U2klm_vFbcs or email craig@thoughtlabmedia.ca).
