Canadian Songwriter Challenge: Charlottetown PEI
Songwriter Submissions
Deadline: February 20, 2025
Are you a Saskatchewan singer/songwriter looking for a unique opportunity to collaborate with other artists, producers, and industry professionals from across Canada and beyond?
Here’s your chance!
The Canadian Songwriter Sessions (formally known as the Canadian Songwriter Challenge) is a component of the Canadian Song Conference (CSC) and was created by Music PEI through a partnership with other provincial music industry associations. This is its 11th year. The project matches artists from PEI together with artists from across Canada to collaborate and co-write in pairs under the mentorship of a prominent Canadian producer. Each pair of artists will write and record two songs in demo form, first meeting for co-writing sessions online beginning in March, and then meeting in person in Charlottetown PEI, May 28-30/2025. After the songwriting and recording process is completed, each pair of songwriters will have an opportunity to present their songs at a listening session of industry delegates recruited for the CSC, including music supervisors, sync agents, labels, publishers, and other industry professionals.
The Songwriter Sessions are not genre-specific. Applications come from individuals.
Music PEI will provide travel, accommodations, the recording studio, etc. and will work with partner MIAs to select the regional artists.
SaskMusic is sponsoring the participation of the Saskatchewan songwriter.
