Re-Creating Community Together: A Cross-Disciplinary and Cross-Cultural Collaboration in Creative Community Building

Note: Deadline Uncertain

On Cue Performance Hub, in partnership with Dance Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Association of Theatre Professionals, encourages applications from artists working in one or more performing arts disciplines (dance, music, theatre, spoken word poetry, storytelling, etc) to create a new performative work for Re-Creating Community Together, a cross-cultural community gathering in Regina on the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, March 21, 2024.

This program will involve 4 artists plus our Knowledge Keeper/Artist, Joseph Naytowhow, who will lead the collaborative creative development process with potential organizational/developmental support provided by On Cue and our partners as needed. We are ideally looking to create a mix of disciplines such as one dancer, one theatre artist, one musician, and one visual artist.

Beyond professional fees ($3000), the take-away for artists from this program is intended to include:

- Professional development
- Artist-in-the-schools training and experience (with additional fees depending on the availability of artists to visit schools)
- Increased knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures and ways of knowing
- Increased skills and experience in cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary collaboration
