NEXT WAVE is a new program from SaskMusic, designed to provide emerging artists with the knowledge, strategies, and resources to develop and accelerate their careers internationally.

This multi-month program will be a personalized combination of mentor sessions, workshops, and learning opportunities, and will require a minimum time commitment of 12 hours between mid-July and December (estimated at 1-3 hours/month).

There are six artist spots available in the program. If the artist is a band, 1-2 members (typically those taking on self-management duties for the band) would be the participants in this program. While the majority of sessions will be presented in an online format, the program will end with an in-person mentor meet-up at SaskMusic's annual music summit, Very Prairie, in December.

Artists will walk away from Next Wave with clearly defined goals, an understanding of next steps in their musical path, and the confidence to make it happen.

SaskMusic members at an emerging to intermediate stage of development in their careers, located anywhere in Sask, are invited to apply.
Applications will be evaluated by an outside jury who are experts in international showcasing, with an intent to prioritize submissions from artists who identify as Black, Indigenous or racialized, and/or who identify as youth (age 25 and under).
