Set in the fictional town of Snake River Mountain, Sun Will Rise is the third in a series. Continuing the narrative previously set out, this LP hones in on the internal dialogue of its protagonist - author Reginald McKruski. Excising lyrics from conversations, a letter, and embellished memories, the events captured through these songs take place between Feb 2-23, 1989. It’s darker and heavier, yet more melodic and elaborate than the two previous LPs. Taking pop cues from XTC and Robyn Hitchcock, tonal inspiration from the guitar sounds of Television and My Bloody Valentine, and a deadpan vocal delivery reminiscent of Joy Division or Ought.
