Shack Wacky

The Grid Pickers

March 2014

The Grid Pickers are a traditionally untraditional husband and wife duo. Formally charged with grand pickery, their songs of long hard roads and living off the land are making a bold entrance into the Canadian folk scene. From hand-broadcasted seeds of ragtime and country grow lush crops of untamed bluegrass, Celtic, and old-time. With haunting harmonies and foot-stomping tunes, Shack Wacky comes after six long years of preparation. Highlights include “Old Dirt Road,” a fast-flowing instrumental, and “Crop Holler,” a high lonesome banjo tune about trusting the earth to provide the things needed for survival. Produced by: The Grid Pickers. Recorded at: Home studio, Buchanan SK. More info: thegridpickers.bandcamp.com Released: March 25, 2014
