Native Australian rocker David Farrell and Maritime folk artist Janet Mills team up for a new shade of genre on the folk/rock colour wheel with duo The Strange Valentines. Based in Regina, Saskatchewan since 2016 their strong melodies, soulful stories, quirky humour, and rich harmonies have been described as if the Kinks jammed with Fleetwood Mac using only acoustic instruments in a folksy type backdrop.

With both members sharing lead and harmony vocals, David’s warm, engaging voice might make you think of Tom Petty or Bryan Adams; Janet flies somewhere between Sarah McLaughlin and a saucy Karen Carpenter.

Join us at the Creative City Centre on Friday, June 1st for the release of their sixth album “Odd Angled Love Songs for Humans” before they embark on a repeat adventure through the Maritimes and UK.

Doors open at 7:30pm, show starts at 8:00pm. Tickets can be purchased online at www.creativecitycentre.ca for $10 + GST or at the door for $12 +GST. All ages are welcome and a 19+ bar is available with valid ID.
