FREE ONLINE ANTIRACISM WORKSHOP - Learn How To Build an Antiracist Lens at Work

When

  • February 15, 2023 - Showtime: 11:00am

What you’ll get in these (free) Workshop Sessions:

1) Understand Racism In ‘Canada’

A clear introduction to ignite your unlearning & relearning process in critical thinking. Rooting our understanding of today’s racial injustices and white supremacy in the historical impacts of living on stolen land, the cultural genocide of Indigenous peoples, the enslavement of Black people and the racist structures that impact the life chances of Black, Indigenous and racialized communities.

2) Learn to hold antiracist conversations at work & at home

It is essential that an antiracist lens is integrated in the decisions we make for our loved ones and families and within our workspaces. What books do our children read? What conversations are we having at the dinner table? What policies and practices at work are creating inequities? Are the spaces we are in majority-white? We will look at the lens needed to take steps towards community and organizational change and we will reveal what it looks like to be actively antiracist in the spaces we are in.

3) Learn how to become an accomplice.

And learn why true allyship requires inner change + measurable action steps at home, at work & in your community. We need to ensure that we are moving beyond the performative- theatre ways that allyship is often displayed. We’ll discuss Intention vs. Impact and the harm in white centring as you embark on being a part of the change.
