amiskwacîwâskahikan/Edmonton post-hardcore band, Midnight Peg hit the scene in 2022. Their  climactic performance, experimental take on scramz and steady stream of shows has quickly gained a diverse and loyal following. Vocalist Raquel (Rocky) Mann, guitarist Eric Neilson, bassist Brian Lin, and drummer Jeff Brannen strive to upturn traditional punk tropes. Their self-released, debut album Horn Colic is a sample of Midnight Peg's bizarre intuition.

Short, catchy songs fuse the subversive aggression of Queercore and Riot Grrrl movements with the heartfelt, post-hardcore and old-school emo soundscapes of the decade that followed. The result : sonic blister then mess of fluid. Melodically distorted riffs, heavy-driving drums, thick bass and thoughtful, frenzied vocals raise as many eyebrows as fists. Rocky brings a beguiling and frenetic stage presence, spitting lyrics that apricate the stench of the over-refined and make it clear that the bottom of someone else's dirty laundry is not a good hiding place. As Cups N' Cakes writer Drew Cox says, "It slices, it dices, it feels vital. It feels great. Like a welcome slap to the face. You know you needed it."

HARSH is Queer, Chaotic, and Powerful. To be at a HARSH show is to be engulfed in positive energy; enveloped by the chaotic good. Armed with witty banter and feminist politics, HARSH manages to be radical yet fun; inclusive yet uncompromising. HARSH is not afraid to challenge their audience, the binary, or the patriarchy, often in the same song. Building on the anarchic spirit of Crass, IDLES, and Kathleen Hanna, HARSH has built themselves a sound that resembles nothing else.
