Description
Patti Layne is a singer/songwriter who grew up in Saskatchewan, singing in choirs. She moved to Europe in her 20s and was signed as a solo artist, singing mainly in French, by EMI, and later Polygram, releasing an album and many singles, including the song “Une espece de Canadienne”, written by Didier Barbelivian, which sold over 100,000 copies.
She has appeared on hundreds of TV shows in France, Belgium and Switzerland and toured extensively in France and the UK. She has written and co-written many songs for herself and other artists, eventually releasing an album in English, ‘Prairie Burn’. She has performed as a solo artist, in duos and different bands, singing an eclectic mixture of music, including pop, jazz, blues, RnB, rock, folk and her original songs which have been described as Urban Folk. Her songs are like stories that range from sensitive, dark, sexy, humorous, touching and quirky and her vocals are warm, intimate, strong and honest. Patti is back living in Saskatoon and looking forward to getting out there to perform.
