“After taking the time to explore other avenues and attempting to create a life dedicated to objectives other than music” she explains, “it soon became clear that a life without singing, songwriting, and entertaining was a life that was not going to work for me.  The burning desire to nurture my passion for all things music eventually won over and brought me back to the path that is, and always has been, the path for me”.

Well, Ms. James, we’re so glad it did!

From belting out “I want to ride in the rodeo” in “I Want to Live” and “don’t be another one, who settles down with number two” in “Another One” it’s clear that Ginelle aims to reach her fans by encouraging and empowering them to follow their dreams and pay attention to that nagging voice in the back of their head that unmistakably demands more.  “If I can encourage just one person to live the best version of themselves through my lyrics, then I’ll consider myself a success in this music business”, she states. 

Growing up in a musical household in the quiet province of Saskatchewan, James was introduced to a variety of album favourites at a young age.  Whether it played in the kitchen while her mom cooked supper or shook the tractor cab while she learned to run yet another piece of farm equipment, Ginelle fell in love with everything from the country twang of Reba McEntire and Barbara Mandrell, to the soulful sound of Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding & Aretha Franklin.  Even now the singer/songwriter’s iPod has the ability to entertain any audience, with playlists jumping from “Lovely Day” by Bill Withers to “Don’t It” by Billy Currington.  This unique b...
