SaskMusic is seeking a Graphic Design and Administrative Assistant through the Student Work Placement program, Cultural Human Resources Canada.

About the Role

This is a remote term contract running from late June 2026 through October 31, 2026 (flexible). The contract is based on 35 hours per week for 14 weeks at $20.00 per hour.

While the role may be fully remote, a workspace in our accessible Regina office is available to local candidates who would like to use it.

Position Overview

Our Graphic Design and Administrative Assistant will provide graphic design services to support the promotion and marketing of music artists and industry professionals through a mentored program, reporting to our Marketing and Communications Manager. You will meet with music industry clients to understand their needs, create workplans and design drafts, and work through the design process to achieve completed assets. You will also work on graphic materials for SaskMusic initiatives. A portion of the role will entail providing support to the administrative team, including conducting outreach and providing information to our members, updating database records, research, and general office tasks.

The candidate for this role is pursuing a career in graphic design, marketing, or related fields, and is a creative and organized self-starter. You pay attention to the details, have strong computer and design skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and great communications skills. This position would be ideal for someone who is excited to continue their learning and who is interested in knowing more about the workings of a non-profit association, while garnering practical interpersonal and administrative experience.

This position is based on regular weekday hours, with flexibility to complete some of the hours during evenings or weekends, and reasonable accommodations for post-secondary class schedules and personal commitments.

Our organization has a Code of Conduct which this workplace and position will adhere to, in addition to the Canadian Code of Conduct for the Performing Arts (http://respectfulartsworkplaces.ca/sites/default/files/2019-06/Code%20of%20Conduct%20LPA%20booklet.pdf).

Eligibility
This Student Work Program, funded in part by Culture Works Canada, creates paid quality work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunities for students so that they can develop the work-ready skills that are required to secure meaningful employment upon graduation. There is no age limit.

Student applicants must meet all of the following requirements to be considered:

  • Registered as a student in a recognized Canadian PSE institution in any program or field of study. This means you are confirmed to attend post-secondary education at a future date, including students returning to continue their studies in fall 2026.
  • Legally allowed to work in Canada according to the laws and regulations of the province of Saskatchewan.
  • Either a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a person granted refugee protection under the law (Social Insurance Number does not begin with 9).

What You’ll Need

  • Experience in graphic design, whether self-taught or through formal education.
  • A desire to get hands-on experience working with clients in a setting that mirrors a combination of office and freelance environments.
  • The ability to follow detailed processes, meet deadlines, and balance multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Access to a high-speed internet connection and a computer capable of accomplishing professional graphic design work.
