Since 2004, Library Services for Saskatchewan Aboriginal Peoples (LSSAP) has coordinated Saskatchewan Indigenous Storytelling Month. Through the month of February, storytelling events are held by libraries and their partners in communities throughout Saskatchewan. We encourage you to view the schedule and take in events in your area!

- The Regina Public Library, in partnership with Regina Public and Catholic Schools, invites teachers and their students to participate in online Indigenous storytelling sessions during February.
- The Saskatchewan Intercultural Association is hosting a youth storytelling workshop led by Randy Morin, Indigenous Storyteller and Language Keeper on February 10th, 2026 from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Register here.
- Office of the Treaty Commissioner is hosting a webinar, "Decolonizing Ourselves: Learning Through Story" online February 17 & 19 at 7pm. Register here.
- The Mackenzie Art Gallery is celebrating Indigenous Storytelling Month on February 19 from 6:30-8:30pm. Details here.
- Métis Nation Saskatchewan, in partnership with Remai Modern, is celebrating the launch of the book “Self-Determination through the Eyes of Lii Vyeu Moond, Kihtêyak, Ąłnëdhë” (the Old Ones - Michif / Elders - Cree and Denesuline) on February 18th at 10am in the River View Room at Remai Modern Museum. Sâkêwêwak announces the Sâkêwêwak’s Storytellers Festival this month.
They note, "Please join Sâkêwêwak’s Storytellers Festival as we celebrate winter traditions through Indigenous storytelling, art, and gathering. We’re excited to announce spoken word, panel discussions, art installations, youth programming, a film screening, and more - starting February 19 and continuing until March 1.
