Lyssa & The Try-Tones Release Soul-Soaked New EP New Love: Side A
Out November 5 on All Streaming Platforms via Sharp 5 Records

Regina, SK — November 5, 2025 — Saskatchewan’s own Lyssa & The Try-Tones are celebrating the release of their newest EP, New Love: Side A — a fresh yet vintage-sounding collection that channels the golden age of soul with the honesty of modern pop. The five-piece outfit continues its mission to keep real soul music alive and raw, capturing the warmth of live-off-the-floor recordings and the unfiltered emotion of love in bloom.

With horns blazing, grooves pulsing, and vocals steeped in sincerity, New Love: Side A takes listeners through the tender, tangled emotions of love — from fear and vulnerability to joy and renewal. Each track reflects the band’s belief that authenticity is the soul’s loudest instrument.

The record was produced by Erik Mehlsen and recorded under Sharp 5 Records, with Byron Chambers handling sound engineering and mixing. The project’s visual storytelling is brought to life through videography by Quentin Friesen, album artwork by Barfany Scabberoni, and photography by Alysia Androsoff.

Performed by:
Alyssa (Woolhether) Lyssa — vocals
Erik Mehlsen — guitar
Courtney Ballantyne — bass
Ukeme Enoch — drums
Olufemi Joshua — keys
Carter Powley — tenor sax
Joel Lareau — trombone
Stephen Folnovic — trumpet

Following the digital release, fans can experience the new material live at The Artesian in Regina on Saturday, December 6, 2025, for the official EP release show — featuring special guests Terraplane and Charley Victoria.

“This EP is about that vulnerable, thrilling place where love first takes root — when it’s new, uncertain, and completely real,” says lead singer Alyssa Woolhether. “Every note was played live, every lyric is lived-in. It’s music made to move you — body and heart.”

New Love: Side A is available now on all major streaming platforms.
