Airing Aug. 1 to 4 Rock 102 is set to make Saskatchewan Day history with the launch of the
Hometown Rock Long Weekend, showcasing an extraordinary lineup of Saskatchewan’s own
rock bands.

For four days, Rock 102 will feature hundreds of songs from local artists, highlighting a mix of
legendary Saskatchewan bands like The Sheepdogs, Streetheart, The Northern Pikes, Queen
City Kids, One Bad Son, The Dead South, Wide Mouth Mason
, and more, along with dozens of
local emerging artists from across the province.

"This is something no other station in Canada is doing. We’re putting Saskatchewan musicians
front and center on a massive scale,” says Joel Kleer, host of Hometown Rock on Rock 102.

“We’re not just playing the music, we’re telling the stories behind it: where these bands are
from, where they went to school, where they got their start and all their wild stories along the
way. It’s a celebration of Saskatchewan rock at every level.”

In addition to featuring Saskatchewan artists every hour throughout the weekend, Joel will also
host a special three-hour Saturday night show from 6 to 9 p.m., playing 100% Saskatchewan
rock.

“For three straight hours, it’ll be wall-to-wall homegrown talent, legends, local heroes, and
brand-new discoveries, all from Saskatchewan,” said Kleer.
