SaskMusic was pleased to participate in the 3-day 'Grade 9 WorkSafe Try a Career Fair' hosted by the Regina District Industry Education Council in Balgonie last week May 13-15, 2025.

The event, held at the Balgonie Rink and Multiplex Hall, saw over 3600 students from all over Saskatchewan participating, and serves as an opportunity for SaskMusic to engage with Saskatchewan's next generation of musicians.

Education Manager Ben Valiaho and Administrative Assistant Kevin Kyle were thrilled to engage directly with 1200+ students and budding musicians at the SaskMusic information booth, sharing with youth various career opportunities available to them in the music industry.

Ben notes that a highlight for him included the opportunity to have numerous chats about the music business while also sharing information about the many talent musicians who call Saskatchewan home.

Beyond education, attendees (students, teachers, VIPs, and even other presenters) were able try their hand at scratching some records while connecting with Saskatchewan's music industry association!

Earlier in the month, SaskMusic also attended the Prairie South Schools 2025 'Try A Career' Expo at the Moose Jaw Exhibition Company Grounds on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 where students got to jumpstart their career in music via the turntable, our information booth, and conversation with knowledgeable staff!

If you have a career fair or education event that you'd like SaskMusic to be a part of please do reach out to Education Manager Ben Valiaho by email at ben@saskmusic.org
