The federal election is underway, and the CLMA has launched the #CanadaIsLiveMusic campaign to advance the true power and potential of Canadian artists, stages, workers, and businesses.

It's time for Canada's live music industry to support our economy in bigger and bolder ways. Connecting amazing artists with their fans is what we do. When our clubs, concert halls, and festivals are full and thriving, hospitality, tourism, travel, and many other adjacent sectors also benefit. Currently contributing  $10.92B to GDP [the film and television industry contributes  $14B], Canadian live music punches above its weight, despite the absence of policy frameworks that could incentivize even greater growth. This is the opportunity.

In this time of turbulent disruption and economic uncertainty, live music is an industry that creates jobs, supports tourism and local spending, strengthens communities, brings people together, and provides a vital income stream for artists.
