Sask connections within this year's awards nominees include Ontario/Saskatchewan duo Beau Nectar, nominated for

  • Video of the Year (Voting Category) for “Buds”
  • Newcomer of the Year (Voting Category)
  • Group of the Year
  • Best Production and Arrangements for Beau Nectar, "On fera la fête"

and former Saskie Carissa Klopoushak, nominated for Live Music Curator of the Year (Voting category) for the Ottawa Chamberfest.

Beau Nectar (formerly Marie-Clo x éemi) is a collaboration between two bilingual singer-songwriters separated by kilometers of forests, rivers, mountains and prairies. Marie-Clo, Franco-Ontarian, and éemi, Fransaskoise deliver intimate, vibrant and surreal electronic pop with eco-feminist lyrics that spark their fans’ empathy towards nature. Having recently signed with Indica Records, the duo released their first album Two Lips on June 2 2023.

Carissa Klopoushak is a violinist based in Ottawa, where she plays with the National Arts Centre Orchestra, various chamber projects including the Ironwood Quartet, and serves as Artistic Director of Ottawa Chamberfest. Formerly of Saskatoon (by way of Montreal), she’s a proud Ukrainian-Canadian, a frequent traveler, vinyl enthusiast, and a coffee/whisky/music snob. Carissa wears many professional hats: violinist, violist, chamber musician, orchestral musician, singer, and artistic director. Her debut album, SOUNDWORLDS, was released in 2016.
