Established in 1987, The Folk Music Ontario Conference has been the largest gathering of the professional Folk Music community in Canada. Since the inaugural gathering as the Ontario Council of Folk Festivals, FMO has connected artists and presenters through showcasing, one-on-one meetings, networking, peer sessions, panels, mentorship, and other career development opportunities.
The Conference is the premiere networking event for the Canadian Folk Music community, with international participation by artists and industry delegates. Networking opportunities exist through receptions, gatherings, and online Lightning Talks.

October 12, 7pm the Venue’s Choice kickoff concert will be held in the Grand Ballroom at the Warner Center Marriott. Each year, FAR-West chooses top venues dedicated to presenting quality acoustic music and musical diversity in their region. In turn, each venue host selects artists that epitomize the music that the venues regularly present. This results in a thrilling night of music, making it one of the highlights of the whole weekend.
