Jaime April and Jason Moon who make up the musical duo APRIL MOON have recently been fulfilling childhood dreams by performing their own music at the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool, UK. The pair both grew up in Prince Albert and met through the local theatre scene before ever getting together to play music. Moon first learned to play drums in junior high and in the Prince Albert City Band but switched to guitar when he discovered his parents vinyl collection and fell in love with the Beatles, just like whole generations before and after him. It's hard to imagine a more iconic venue to play than the Cavern for a Beatles fan but that's exactly where the duo found themselves this past week.
After snagging a spot supporting popular Americana band 'Sebastian and the Poor Valley Marauders' at their EP Launch, the pair from PA delighted the audience with a performance described as "an utter delight of country style in what I can only describe as the most sunshine-filled performance I think I've ever seen!", by music journalist Janet Harding. These days find this duo from Prince Albert based in the UK playing their brand of Canadiana which they describe as 'similar to Americana but you have to keep your socks on'. Their songs include 'The Lord Hath Taken Away' which was inspired by stories that April's Grandmother told her about growing up near Moose Jaw as well as a crowd favourite 'Bloody Suzy' which takes a whimsical look at her sister's job performing cow autopsies.
