About SXSW: "New, developing, and established showcasing artists enhance their careers by reaching new audiences and attendees. Saskatoon band The Garrys have been selected for an official showcase at SXSW 2022, and will also be playing a couple of day parties.
- BreakOut West will present Western Canadian artists The Garrys, Begonia, JayWood, Meltt and The Velveteins on Tuesday, March 15 at Swan Dive,
615 Red River St., Austin. - Lazarus Brewing day parties will include The Garrys on Thursday, March 17 at 6pm, 1902 East 6th street, Austin.

The Garrys are a trio of sisters from the coldest part of the landlocked Canadian prairies, and they make surf music. Formed in the spring of 2015, The Garrys use layered 3-part blood harmonies, hazy sun-bleached melodies, classic lo-fi guitar tones, and syncopated surf beats to create a unique “doom-wop” sound, dripping with dark nostalgia and touched by psychedelic dread. Their music is likely to leave you with an urge to do the Watusi, bittersweet thoughts about slow-dancing with your middle school crush, or a nagging feeling that it’s not quite safe to go back into the water.
Official SXSW showcase selections are made through the SXSW Festival's own processes. Day party selections are programmed by each event's presenters.
SaskMusic does not run intakes for, jury, select, nor provide grant funding to artists for SXSW showcases.
This year SaskMusic is sponsoring the M for Montreal x Brooklyn Vegan showcase, which is curated by the presenters and includes one official showcasing Saskatchewan artist.
