Entertainment Buyer, Full-time

Travel: 20 - 30%

Location: Central Office - Saskatoon, SK S7N 1K4 CA (Primary)

Salary Range: $64,236.00 - $80,294.00

Main Duties: The Entertainment Buyer is responsible for the strategic planning, booking and execution of the live entertainment experience at all SIGA properties. The entertainment strategy focuses on increasing casino visitation of new and existing markets and increasing revenue of gaming and ancillary services.

Responsibilities include: Negotiating contract terms between SIGA Casinos and entertainers appearing at the Casinos. Coordinating and monitoring contract fulfilment. Providing sound advice and guidance, based on intimate knowledge of the entertainment industry. Assessing entertainment quality, marketability, and feasibility. Working with Marketing to plan event budgets, forecast costs, and maximize value to SIGA. Preparing quarterly SOCAN royalty payments. Maintaining, developing and monitoring entertainment-related policies and procedures. Promoting continual improvement of the entertainment experience, by gathering feedback, preparing reports, and closely collaborating with Regional and Casino staff. Participating in other projects and initiatives as assigned, to enhance the entertainment experience at SIGA Casinos.

Please note the travel requirement for this position may increase over time.

Qualifications

Education

Successful completion of a Bachelor of Arts, Commerce or Marketing Degree. Entertainment management, event marketing certification, or equivalent, and experience in booking talent for a major organization.

An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.

Experience

Experience in the entertainment community, with talent agencies, as well as negotiating terms and project management. This type of experience is typically gained through a minimum of four years in a similar role.

Excellent communication and organizational skills required. Marketing experience is a preference.

Working knowledge of the technical and crew requirements of all SIGA live entertainment venues (staging, equipment).

 Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Must possess valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
  • You may be required to work in an environment where you will be exposed to the use of tobacco smoke and high noise levels.
