Deadline for submissions: midnight, May 25/21

National Indigenous Peoples Day is coming up. For our 2021 activities honouring this day, SaskMusic is offering a program that seeks to build mentorship and practical skills.

We are seeking approximately 12 artists who are interested in being paired with a video mentor to work, remotely, on creating a new live music video, for use in a special concert to be aired online the week of NIPD.

Selected artists will be matched with a video director and possibly audio recording mentor who will guide you in capturing the best possible performance video footage. This would include virtual coaching sessions on how to frame shots, control lighting, record the audio, software options etc., and may also include the provision of gear to help you get the best quality footage.

We are also working on a free 'how to capture a live performance at home' workshop in combination with your mentor services to help you get started with tips to create good quality videos at home, that you can attend whether you end up being selected for this year's concert or not.

This opportunity is directed to Saskatchewan-based, self-identifying Indigenous artists of all genders and from any genre.

Each selected artist/band will receive mentor services, gear, and/or honorariums totaling over $750.

Questions? Please direct them to darwin@saskmusic.org.

This program is made possible through the support of FACTOR Canada.
