Concerts and Playlist Considerations

Deadline Thur Dec 3/20, 5pm

This year to celebrate the holiday season, we are seeking artist submissions for 2 options:

1) Online Concert

We'll be assembling a special concert(s) of various artists that will be aired online in mid-December. If selected, your video must be provided to us by December 14/20.

Your submission for this option is an audio recording (demo quality ok) of one holiday, winter or seasonally-themed song you'd like to have included in the concert.
Note - We do not want to use previously-released videos nor 'official music videos'. We are looking for live performance-style options.

If selected, you'll film and submit a new video of yourself performing a holiday-themed song (either original or Public Domain) for inclusion in the specials. (Contemporary covers can't be considered due to licensing restrictions.) A max of one song per artist will be included in the concert, with accepted artists receiving an honorarium of $150* for their inclusion. Selected artists will grant us non-exclusive permission for our usage on YouTube, social media accounts, website, etc.

Please follow all current social distancing protocols and health recommendations for video filming.

*As this opportunity is intended to SaskMusic members, non-members who are selected for this opportunity will receive an honorarium of $110 plus a 1-year Individual SaskMusic membership.

2) Playlists Our annual holiday playlists are back! Submit your release-ready song(s) that are holiday, winter, or seasonally-themed for playlist consideration (up to 2 songs per artist). Songs selected will be added to our website, Spotify, and/or YouTube holiday playlists for the public to enjoy throughout December. Originals, covers, and traditional music is all fine to submit.

Both initiatives will be promoted within Saskatchewan and across Canada to market music that's made in Saskatchewan. These opportunities are directed to professional, Saskatchewan-identifying artists of all genres and all genders. Please note we intend these to reach an all-ages audience, so please keep family-friendly language (lyrics) in mind. If you have any questions, please send them to info@saskmusic.org.
