Audiences will find this unique concert to be memorable, funny, uplifting, interesting and very entertaining. A ‘ 2 set ‘ show, 1st set, Eli and Doris take the stage to present their new album ‘ Once Upon the West ‘ in its entirety… back and forth poetry and songs, 21 tracks all written by these ladies. Doris delivers the spoken word poem and Eli delivers the song version of the poem… you will hear the story behind these creations and then how it became a song …. 2nd half of the show Eli & Doris will be joined on stage by their very talented husbands for several more songs and poems …. upright bass, yodelling, ‘ Carter Scratch ‘ style guitar picking, and lots of laughs.
Doris Daley is one of North America's favourite western poets, emcees and western humorists. Born and raised on a family ranch in the foothills of Alberta, Doris's authentic, sparkling poetry has taken her to campfires large and small, to highways, roundabouts and gravel roads throughout the west, and to concert appearances with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival and the Saskatchewan Opera Company. With a performance career spanning more than 20 years, Doris is a frequent performer at corporate and community events, theatre concerts and cowboy festivals.
Eli Barsi was raised on the prairies of southeastern Saskatchewan. Leaning on the strength of good ol’ fashion farm work ethic and upbringing she has independently pursued and carved out a successful career that continues after 3 decades. Eli has celebrated International success with European tours, 16 album releases, numerous awards, radio & CMT airplay, and a busy show calendar. She writes and performs Western Roots, Folk, Bluegrass Gospel and Traditional Country with equal proficiency and does a superb job of keeping the lost art of yodelling alive.
