After 10 tours and 4 releases, The Faps have fully captured their chaotic, dirty, engaging live show and bizarre, heavy “anti-rock” music with their first full-length, "Grimelda". The album maintains an abrasive post-punk backbone while experimenting with style and structure, utilizing elements of pop, math-rock, folk, and jazz through interesting collaborations. Megan Nash lends her voice along with Laura Beach (Twin Voices) who contributes vocals and violin on multiple songs. Erik Hepp (Swayze, A Ghost in Drag) provides a blazing guitar solo in contrast to the brass, banjo, and mandolin courtesy of Jeffrey Popiel (Minor Matter, Juniperus). All of this and more is woven through the strange, gritty guitar-and-drum duo with the help of sound engineer Mike Lefebvre. Recorded at The Sweat Shoppe in Saskatoon, the band is currently on tour in support of the new release. Check out their Facebook Page for more details!
