Southsiders comprises of rapper Cheeky (Dan Sherven) and musician Chad Neald. Voices in My Head is the Regina duo's first studio album. Drawing heavily from the Minneapolis rap group Atmosphere and Canadian rap sensation Shad - the album has been a hit in Saskatchewan's underground rap scene. Cheeky's lyrics delve into his broken relationship with his daughter's mother, racism in Saskatchewan faced by First Nations peoples, struggles with suicide, depression, and schizophrenia, and why he's a nasty MC.

Musically, the album ranges from Chad Neald's acoustic guitar ballad's to multi-instrumental soundscapes which sample jazz legends. It was recorded in one week in Chad Neald's basement.

Cheeky and Chad Neald are both graduates from the University of Regina; majoring in Philosophy and Physics, respectively.

Cheeky is a 25 year old single father of a five year old girl; and Chad Neald is a 24 year old world traveler who plays drums for With the Birds. With the Birds lead vocalist Matthew Baumgartner is featured on the album's single "Suicide Note", and he also created the album's cover art.

Voices in My Head was produced entirely by Jordan Ast. The full album can be streamed here: https://soundcloud.com/southsidersmusic/sets/voices-in-my-head
