Canada’s rising stars Rosie & the Riveters are three fiercely talented and sassy dames who perform uplifting folk music with a vintage 1940s flair. Their original songs feature sophisticated harmonies, body percussion, humour, and just enough ooh-la-la to keep toes tapping long after the show is over. They’re hitting the road again this summer and are excited to perform for audiences across Canada in five provinces and one territory before dipping down into the US again later this summer. The kick-off: Canada’s 150th anniversary in their home province, at Government House in Regina on July 1st. Their live performances feature three-part harmonies, one acoustic guitar, some sass, class, and a whole lot of laughter. CBC Radio 2 host, Rich Terfry, calls them "one of the best live [acts] you’ll ever see ".

"We're super excited to be discovering so many new-to-us festivals and cities this summer! Plus, we've got a collection of shiny new songs that we'll be trying along the way! We can't wait!" - Alexis Normand

The band’s reinvention of vintage folk attracted national accolades for their debut album, Good Clean Fun!, which was released in 2015. It reached #9 on Earshot Magazine’s national folk/roots chart, and their single, Ain’t Gonna Bother, reached the #5 spot on the CBC Radio 2’s national Top 20 countdown. In 2016 the band received the Saskatchewan Arts Award for Emerging Artist and they also received nominations for Canadian Folk Music Award - Vocal Group of the Year, and a Western Canadian Music Award - Roots Duo/Group of the Year.

Inspired by Rosie the Riveter, the feminist icon who symbolized the women’s movement into the workforce during WWII, the Riveters seek to empower women to be ambassadors for change within their own communities. In support of this vision, they invest 20% of their merchandise profits into women’s projects around the world though KIVA.org.

Since the band’s formation in 2011, the Riveters have made a grand entrance onto the folk scene, already having shared the stage with Arlo Guthrie, Serena Ryder and Fred Penner. They have become media darlings along the way and have been featured in numerous media outlets including CTV’s ETalk Daily, Vintage Life Magazine, and they were most recently called “one of the best live [acts] you’ll ever see” by CBC Radio 2 host, Rich Terfry.

“Sweet and just a little bit sassy, Rosie and the Riveters have voices to charm the socks off you. They are superb to work with and they will remind you of a happy sock hop. They were wonderful additions to our daytime workshops as they jumped in with their powerful harmonies wherever they were needed. Highly recommended with songs that feel familiar and yet are totally original.”
