With masterful musicianship, energetic rhythms, and a passion for fiddle and pipe tunes, Saskatchewan-based and Nova Scotia-named West of Mabou bring their unique brand of Celtic music to Southern Saskatchewan. One of CBC Saskatchewan's Artists to Watch in 2017, the band will play 5 shows, which include stops in Moose Jaw, Wolseley, Carlyle, Regina, and Cypress Hills. Joining the band for 3 of the dates is multi-award-winning fiddler and pianist, Troy MacGillivray. Hailing from Lanark, NS, Troy received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for outstanding contributions to culture in Canada.

Since releasing their album, West of Mabou has received international radio play, and rave reviews from around the world. Boston-based Skope Magazine says, "Timeless and infinitely tasteful, West of Mabou's self-titled album simply soars to the skies." UK-based Fatea Magazine says, "If West Of Mabou's self-titled album doesn't get you chair dancing, frankly the grey suit beckons."

West of Mabou is a Creative Saskatchewan Sound Recording Grant recipient and recorded their debut with multi-JUNO-winning engineer and producer, John DS Adams. Each of the band members is an experienced performer in their own right, having played at festivals, competitions, pubs, and ceilidhs around the world, including the World Pipe Band Championships, Canmore Highland Games, JUNOfest, Piping Live!, Western Canadian Music Awards, Canada Cup of Curling, and Ford World Men’s Curling Championships. West of Mabou will continue combining old and new into an energetic fusion of talent and passion, qualities Saskatchewan musicians are known for.

With Canadian and American dates scheduled for 2017, West of Mabou will continue to charm audiences with their impossible-to-sit-still tempos and their ability to fold Celtic sounds with modern inflections into a recipe for dance.
