Are you ready to pick up your axes and be educated, inspired and motivated? Sunday December 4, 2016 is a day you need to mark on your calendar for Regina’s first guitar festival – THE PICKMAN GUITAR FEST, happening at The Exchange and The Club – 2431 8TH Avenue.

Creator and organizer Jayson Brinkworth is no stranger to hosting world-class music events in the Queen City (Regina Drum Festival, Stickman Drum Experience and more). As co-owner of Music In The House, Jayson sees many guitar students come for weekly lessons and realizes that Regina is home to MANY great guitar players.

Brinkworth states, “I have had 10+ years experience in hosting music events in Regina and see no reason that a guitar festival can’t work here.” Jayson is a full-time career musician who grew up and still proudly makes his home in Regina.“I am VERY proud of my Regina roots and am committed to giving back to our music community with opportunities like we have never seen.”

Year one of the event is starting with semi-local presenters, and attendance will determine what the future may hold.

Year one's line up is very diverse: Ray Bell (Music |n The House), Rob D and guests (The Bureau), Justin Bender (Third Ion, Into Eternity) and Murray Pulver (Crash Test Dummies, Doc Walker).

The event will also have a Q and A panel made up of guitar players who also have other careers in the music industry – Brad Prosko (B-Rad Studio), TJ Silljer (Road Manager for The Road Hammers, Canadian Tenors) and Brock Andrews (Solo artist and Fender Guitar rep). As bonus, TJ will be talking about guitar maintenance and setup.

Major sponsors confirmed so far are Fender Guitars and D'Addario, with more to be added. Pickman merch and prizes will also be a draw for the event.

There will also be a tradeshow. If you might be interested in a booth, feel free to contact Jayson for details.

For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/pickmanguitarfestival/. Tickets are $15, available at Music In The House and online at Ticketedge.ca. More ticket locations will be announced soon, and they will also be available at the door.

Jayson closes with “I am looking forward to December 4 with the Regina guitar community, and building another great music event in our city.”
