After a long, exciting journey, Saskatoon band Dark Unconscious released their debut album, Dig 'em Up, on July 8, 2016.  Songwriter/guitar player for Dark Unconscious, Jeff Derksen, wanted to keep the whole process in Saskatchewan.  Dig 'em Up is a hard rock album that was recorded at local recording studio, Toneshift Audio, with Chris Douglas at the controls. Chris took on all engineering and mixing duties as well as some producing duties when required.  The album was also mastered locally at Case Mastering.  Graphic design for the album cover was done at Classic Promotions.

Dig 'em Up is a hard rock album with a definite blues influence.  From the toe-tapping, hard riffing songs like Fool's Lullaby and Dig 'em Up to melodic ballads like Set Me Free and to the punk rhythms of I Meant To Say, there is definitely a wide variety of rock sounds on this album.  Even though you can hear classic rock influence in this album, this is a fresh, new sound for Saskatoon rock music!
