Saskatchewan blues-rocker Jordan Welbourne will release his debut EP, Reach Out. The album is Welbourne’s debut as a solo artist and songwriter, and features the radio single “Rattlesnake Jake” which is currently being played on Rock 102 (Saskatoon), The Wolf (Regina) in Saskatchewan. The official album release party will take place at Village Guitars in Welbourne’s hometown of Saskatoon, SK on April 29. Welbourne will tour Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia throughout May, June and July, in addition to festival performances throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Welbourne is an exceptional rock guitar player and classically trained vocalist. He worked as a sessional performer and studio musician for more than 5 years prior debut as a solo artist, now performing guitar-driven rock and blues music. The trio, comprised of Welbourne, bassist Jesse Dawson (The Buzzardline, Johnny Don’t) and drummer Nathan Abramyk (The Matt Remenda Ensemble, Ponteix) performs an energetic show designed to ensnare the audience and take them from pumping their firsts in the air to attentive silence and back to singing every word of the chorus. Constantly writing and refining his  musicianship, one can expect new songs and musical risks from Welbourne at every show.

Jordan grew up in the heart of Saskatoon, SK, in the Riversdale area. His single-mother pushed him into music throughout his childhood, despite his resistance. His attitude towards music changed once he began playing the guitar at age 15. Jordan studied classical voice and music education at the University of Saskatchewan, while supporting himself as a sessional guitarist and bassist.

Jordan’s sessional and solo career has included numerous festivals and tours, including: 1 European tour, 1 American Tour, 5 Western Canadian Tours, Numerous festivals (including Canadian Music Week, Toronto Ukrainian Festival, Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, Saskatoon Blues Festival) and hundreds of other performances. In 2015, Jordan played over 100 shows.
