Saskatoon Media Group (98COOL, 600 CJWW and 92.9 The Bull) held their 13th Annual Children’s Hospital Foundation Radiothon February 4-6/15. The 3-day event raised $706,868, bringing the overall Radiothon total to over $4.1 million dollars. Money raised will fund urgent pediatric equipment needs and the new Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan, which began construction in September. The Jeans and Jewels Gala fundraiser for CHF, April 24 in Saskatoon, reunited the original CCMA Award-winning Johner Brothers.

The 620 CKRM Proudly Saskatchewan showcase, formerly known as the Big Country Talent Show, was held in 2 rounds on May 24 and 31 in Regina. Moving on to the finals, to be held July 4 at Casino Regina, are: Tenille Arts, Arron Rigden, Devin Larochelle, Mabaleka, Mandy Ringdal and Kara Golemba. The contest seeks country artists who are individuals or duos, with a chance at prizes of cash, a demo recording session, professional photos and more. The top three will also perform at the Craven Country Jamboree.
