M For Montreal is an annual event celebrating its 10th year. The industry-focused weekend offers cutting edge conference panels as well as professionally produced showcase opportunities for artists that are open to both M for Montreal delegates and the public. Founded in 2006 in collaboration with one of the most respected festival programmers in the industry, Martin Elbourne (Glastonbury, The Great Escape), the event hosts an expansive list of delegates from around the world. Participants include influential delegates from Israel, Serbia, New Zealand, Mexico, France, Hungary, the UK, and Germany as well as right here in North America.

“M” is an independent organization whose ambitious mission is to help up-and-coming artists both to become better known locally and to launch their careers outside Canada.

SaskMusic will be on the ground to network and support our Saskatchewan showcasing artists. These two artists were selected by M for Montreal organizers after applying to showcase through a SaskMusic call-for-submissions.

About Queen City Stoop Kids

A gang of prairie bumpkins set to melt some faces off with doped out hip hop and ratchet beats. QCSK embrace one mentality: Friends Rule. Cocky on the mic, humble and ready to work, The Stoop Kids are on their grind and in a short amount of time have amassed a dynamic crew of the best local talent to be found in the #YQR. Together with Delusional Kids, Deadlighters Beat Squad and the rest of their 306 family, QCSK are bringing the most current hip hop sound to the Great Plains and beyond.

About Surf Dads

The duo had an unlikely start and plenty of hills to climb. With Chris Dimas attending post-secondary in California, and Gage McGuire living in Saskatchewan, they collaborated through iPhone to come up with their debut record "Denny's EP" (April 12, 2015), signed with Split-Tape Records out of Ohio/Washington, and immediately started working on their follow-up.  “Dark Dads” was half recorded in Regina, and half in L.A, finished in less than a month, and released May 23, 2015.  They decided to write and record their third EP "A Nice Boy" the day before Chris left for LA, releasing it on July 9, 2015. With two tours (taking them all across Canada) already under their belts, Surf Dads shows no signs of slowing down. Already working on their full length follow-up, the duo has proved to be nothing short of a workhorse band.

Participation in this event made possible through Creative Saskatchewan's Market & Export Development Grant Program. Thank you!
