Creative Saskatchewan is excited to announce that Saskatchewan musician Andy Shauf has been signed by one of the most well-connected booking agents in the United States: Tom Windish of the Windish Agency. Windish—whose personal roster includes popular contemporary acts such as Lorde, Alt-J and M83—was recently included in Billboard’s 2015 Power 100 list.

Andy Shauf is a Regina based artist known for his honest, self-reflective songs, captivating lyrical works of fiction, and an intimate live show. Being on the personal roster of Tom Windish will be a game changer for Shauf.

“Tom has a proven track record of bringing unique artists to a wider audience, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to our booking team,” says manager Jon Bartlett. “Tom is completely enchanted by Andy’s music, and his enthusiasm will turn a lot of key industry people onto Andy in the months and years to come.”

Creative Saskatchewan has supported Shauf through its Market Travel and Tour Support grant programs; including Andy’s most recent US tour launching The Bearer of Bad News. It is through the success of this US campaign that he caught the attention of Tom Windish, who has signed Andy for representation in the US, Mexican, South American, Australian and Asian markets. Shauf continues to be represented by Adam Countryman (The Agency Group) for Canada, and Colin Keenan (ATC Live) for the UK/European markets.

“This is really great news for Andy,” says JP Ellson, CEO of Creative Saskatchewan. “We are so pleased we could help him make this connection with such a well known agency. We can’t wait to see what Andy will do next with Windish.”

Booking agencies work with artists to arrange performances, and their connections aid in landing acts at large, well-known venues and festivals.

The Windish Agency is an independent booking agency and is highly regarded worldwide for their skills and tastes. They have a history of seeking out and developing alternative venues, bringing music to previously untapped markets, and have established a strong presence at nearly every major festival and music industry event.

The Windish Agency was named Independent Booking Agency of the Year at the recent 2015 Pollstar Awards, the third time they’ve received this honour in five years.
