SaskMusic proudly travels to Tennessee for the Americana Music Festival & Conference September 17-21, 2014. Continuing with a series of recent successful collaborations with Manitoba Music, Alberta Music, and BreakOut West, we will present two showcase events to the music industry in Nashville under the “BreakoutWest Events” banner.

On September 16, the Music Row Dinner will feature music from all three provinces, including a performance by rising star, urban country singer/songwriter Alex Runions. The second event, the Backyard Party on September 18, will feature the relentlessly touring folk singer/songwriter Zachary Lucky.

SaskMusic is excited to present this opportunity for our artists by assisting with marketing and promotion of their performances and networking with delegates from around the world, following up on connections cultivated at previous events. The 15th Annual Americana Music Festival & Conference will gather thousands of artists, fans and industry professionals from all over the world.

About the Americana Music Festival & Conference

Each year, the Americana Music Festival & Conference brings together legendary artists, the next generation of rising stars, and industry professionals for four days of music and education. It features numerous panels, seminars and much more, proudly providing Nashville's most educational music industry forum. This special event covers the interests and needs of artists, managers, labels, radio stations, publishers, agents, promoters, retailers, legal and business affairs executives, merchandisers and new media professionals – all enthusiastically attended and presented by music industry leaders.

About the Artists:

Zachary Lucky is a very hard-working folk singer. In the last two years he has released numerous albums, and has crossed Canada and the U.S. many times. Hearing Lucky’s songs, or reading or writing about this emerging and indelible Canadian artist’s past, it would seem impossible to separate the singer-songwriter from his prairie origins. With his sixth and latest release, “The Ballad Of Losing You,” Lucky has constructed an earnest and personal narrative about the uncertainty of loss and of transformation.  "(The Ballad) offers just the right mix or mournful resignation and desperate longing that conjures up a deep well of emotion to deliver a soulful brand of Canadiana folk, embellished with a wide-prairie, open-country feel."- Folk Words

Alex Runions is an urban country singer-songwriter, and a rising star in his home country, with a growing string of accolades including winning the 2013 Big Dog 92.7 FM/Bell Media “Next Big Thing” competition; a Radio Star National Songwriting Contest Finalist; opening spots for artists including Gord Bamford; Rodney Atkins and Aaron Pritchett and Neal McCoy; mainstage performances for JunoFest, Grey Cup festivities, Craven Country Jamboree and Dauphin’s Countryfest; and Saskatchewan Country Music Award Nominee for Best Male Vocalist and Rising Star. He maintains a busy touring schedule and is currently working on his second album, with a teaser single currently at Canadian radio.
