SaskMusic is pleased to announce that 11 new projects from a wide array of musical genres have recently been approved for funding under our Investment Program: Single/Demo Sound Recording and Commercial Sound Recording - March 17, 2014 intake. The jury was impressed with the professionalism and diversity of applications received. A total of 53 Single/Demo Sound Recording and Commercial Recording applications were evaluated, with a total of $48,347.63 being allocated to 11 approved applicants. Applications were adjudicated by an external jury of peers using a scored list of criteria, with the highest-scoring applications being recommended for funding.

These programs were funded by Creative Saskatchewan, and that agency has now assumed responsibility for the continued delivery of these recording programs, in addition to the previous SaskMusic programs offered for Travel Support and Marketing Initiatives.

Since its launch in September 2012, the SaskMusic Investment Program received 255 applications for funding, representing over $650,000 in requests. The program approved 107 Saskatchewan applicants, with a total of $305,969 in funding provided.

We encourage music industry participants to review the funding available through Creative Saskatchewan by visiting www.creativesask.com. SaskMusic members can book individual consultations with SaskMusic staff to obtain guidance in the preparation of their applications to Creative Sask.
