CLOSE TALKER REVEALS NEW ALBUM DETAILS, ANNOUNCES CANADIAN TOUR DATES, AND  UNVEILS A NEW VIDEO

Close Talker the quickly exalted, young, indie-rock band from Saskatoon, has intently demonstrated what can be achieved with the understated power of their quartet. Formed in Saskatoon in early 2012 and featuring: Will Quiring (vocals, guitar), Matthew Kopperud (guitar, vocals), Jeremy Olson (vocals, bass), and Chris Morien (vocals, drums), the band produced an independently released gem of a debut with Timbers that was widely raved about for its “edgy vocals and gentle piano lines and orchestral ambition.”

The band has revealed a beautiful new track "Heads" via a cinematically charged black and white short film, shot by director Nathan Boey (Royal Canoe, Paper Lions and Hey Ocean!). Featuring (tasteful) wandering headless torsos and floating bodies alongside an equal measure of breathtaking scenery - the shoot saw the band dedicatedly hauling their gear up Mt Seymour in Vancouver in the pouring rain. The video has been premiered exclusively on Exclaim.ca, which has already reached the 25,000 view mark and reached #1.

Close Talker is also confirmed to play a round of shows over April in May, with a few notable stops with Jordan Klassen in the mix and a play in Toronto for CMW this May. It is following this run of gigs that the band will then head to Montreal’s beloved Breakglass Studios with producer Jace Lasek (Besnard Lakes, Wolf Parade, Stars).

In December 2013 the group locked themselves away for an isolate writing retreat in the dead of the prairie winter. The resulting new 12 songs mark a significant growth in the Close Talker’s expansive sound. They will spend the majority of May in the studio ironing out their upcoming LP with Jace, which is slotted for a late summer 2014 release with a North American tour to follow. More details will be released soon.
