The SaskMusic Investment Program supports the production of commercially viable sound recordings for promotional use and/or commercial release.

SaskMusic is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the March 17, 2014 intake deadline for:

  • Single or Demo Sound Recording: This stream assists with the production of a Single/Demo Sound Recording which may then be released commercially, used for self-promotion, and/or to court the attention of labels/agents/producers. Applicants may apply for up to a maximum of $1500.00.
  • Commercial Sound Recording: This stream assists with the production of an EP/Album Sound Recording. The project must result in a minimum of 6 tracks or 30 minutes’ recorded material, intended for commercial release. Applicants may apply for up to a maximum of $10,000.00.

Applications may come from artists and/or recording industry professionals working in any genre, and will be evaluated by a peer jury of industry professionals.

Since its launch in September 2012, the SaskMusic Investment Program has received 203 applications for funding, representing over $600,000 in funding requests. To date, we have approved 94 Saskatchewan applicants, distributing approximately $250,000 in support.

SaskMusic represents all aspects of the commercial music industry - musicians, singers, songwriters, agents, managers, sound technicians, producers, studios, instrument suppliers, and many more – working in all genres of music. This investment program has been designed to offer support that will have the most impact on our provincial industry, in terms of both creative development and economic return.

This program is funded by Creative Saskatchewan Inc.
