SaskMusic proudly travels to Nashville TN for the Americana Music Festival & Conference September 18-22, 2013. Following on the heels of recent successful collaborative events undertaken with Manitoba Music, Alberta Music, and BreakOut West, we will present two showcase events to the music industry.

On September 17, the Music Row Dinner will feature music from all three provinces, including two-time Canadian Country Music Award Rising Star nominee Codie Provost of Saskatoon. The second event, on September 19, is the Backyard Party, where Regina’s JJ Voss will perform.

SaskMusic is excited to present this opportunity for our artists by assisting with marketing and promotion of their performances and networking with delegates from around the world, following up on connections cultivated at previous events. The 14th Annual Americana Music Festival & Conference will gather thousands of artists, fans and industry professionals from all over the world to Nashville, TN.

About the Americana Music Festival & Conference
For four nights, the Americana Music Festival & Conference features approximately 130 live performances at six music venues in the vicinity of downtown Nashville and promises to once again be the must-attend event for anyone who loves great music. The marquis event, the Americana Honors & Awards Show, returns to the historically cool Ryman Auditorium on September 18 and will honor distinguished members of the music. The Honors & Awards have featured many amazing moments over the years, including Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash’s last live performance, The Carolina Chocolate Drops, Robert Plant & His Band of Joy, Steve Earle & Allison Moorer, Rosanne Cash and John Fogerty.

About the Artists:
Codie Prevost is a five-time Saskatchewan Country Music Association ‘Fans Choice Entertainer of the Year’, who delivers a performance guaranteed to knock your socks off. Building on the momentum from his first three acclaimed albums, (“The Road Ahead”, 2005; “Spin 6-PAK Vol. I”, 2008; "Get Loud", 2010), Codie is getting ready to launch his highly-anticipated fourth album. A 2011 and 2012 Canadian Country Music Awards "Rising Star" nominee, Codie has received 21 SCMA Awards, was nominated for a 2010 Saskatchewan Lieutenant Governor’s Arts Award, and received "Song of The Year" at the Independent Music Awards. Mainstage performances include the Craven Country Jamboree, Havelock Country Jamboree, Dauphin Countryfest, Extreme Country Fever, SXSW Music Festival, Country Bike Rock Festival (France), and many more.

JJ Voss an unmistakable mainstream brand of outlaw Country music with an infusion of Americana flavour, derived from his rural roots in Western Canada and his passion for honest, blue collar storytelling. His dedication as a relentless "live show" road warrior has paid off with
appearances at the Craven Country Jamboree, Camrose Big Valley Jamboree, Dauphin’s Country Fest and JunoFest. JJ’s debut EP “Hillbilly Storybook” (2008) garnered him a nomination for “Producer of the year” from the Western Canadian Music Association and in 2012 he released “Show ‘em Who’s Voss” to Canadian Radio. Produced in Nashville by former Steve Earle band member and Grammy-nominated producer "Harry Stinson" (Peter Frampton, Elton John, Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett, Martina McBride, Marty Stuart), “Show ‘em Who’s Voss” has seen 4 radio singles charting in the top 100 with self-penned “Playing for Keeps” reaching #51on the National chart. With a placement deal in the works on the FX network and national airplay for the “It’s a Pride Thing” video on TCN network in the United States, JJ is excited to release “Show ‘em Who’s Voss” to Americana radio in the U.S. in 2014.
