Multiple-award nominees include The Sheepdogs, Rah Rah, and Jason Cullimore.

Breakout West and the Western Canadian Music Awards will be held October 3-6 in Calgary, Alberta, and promise to be an exciting event of national and international significance. The Music Awards will be presented on Sunday, October 6 and the Industry Awards will be presented on Saturday, October 5.

The four-day event encompasses a three-day music conference, a multi-genre music festival, and two award shows (the Western Canadian Music Industry Awards Brunch and the Western Canadian Music Awards Gala). The final jury and membership voting will begin soon, with members of the six western music industry associations eligible to vote: SaskMusic, MusicBC, Alberta Music, Manitoba Music, Music NWT and Music Yukon.
