Songwriting Opportunity - COUNTRY SONG CAMP PRESENTED BY AMAZON MUSIC

The Country Song Camp is a collaborative initiative in partnership with Amazon Music, Canadian Country Music Association®️ (CCMA®️), SOCAN Foundation, SOCAN, and the National Music Centre (NMC). This four‑day program will take place in Calgary, AB from April 26-29, 2026.
Nine participants selected for this program will engage in a multi‑day songwriting camp designed to foster collaboration, strengthen creative skills, and inspire new partnerships. Over the course of the camp, creators will explore different writing approaches, and develop new works in a supportive environment rooted in community and professional growth. The camp will conclude with a playback party on April 29, where participants will share the songs created throughout the week.
Travel support will be provided through the SOCAN Foundation Travel Assistance Program, and accommodations will be covered for participants based outside of Calgary.
Eligibility Criteria – Applicants must:
- Be a current SOCAN member
- Be a current CCMA member
- Be available and fully committed to participate in-person from April 26-29, 2026 in Calgary, AB
- Be willing and prepared to present the song(s) created during the camp at the April 29 playback session
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Agree to collaborate respectfully and contribute to a positive and inclusive creative environment
- Consent to the use of photographs, videos, and other media captured during the camp for promotional and marketing purposes related to the program
What Participants Receive
- A four‑day, fully facilitated songwriting camp with peer collaborators
- Professional studio/writing space at the National Music Centre
- Support from industry partners
- Constructive feedback from the Amazon Music Curation Team on songs created during the camp
- Consideration for select tracks to be released as Amazon Music Originals, supported by a tailored release plan from the Amazon Music team
- A playback session on April 29
- Travel assistance (for those outside Calgary) provided through the SOCAN Foundation Travel Assistance Program
- Accommodations covered for non‑Calgary residents from April 25-30
Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel and applying through the SOCAN Foundation Travel Assistance Program. Applications are open to Canadian songwriters, artists and producers.
