Country Thunder: Songwriters Showcase 2026
Craven SK July 10-12
Deadline: February 17, 2026
Deadline: 5pm CST, February 17/2026
SaskMusic will once again be collaborating with Country Thunder on the presentation of a songwriters-in-the-round stage at their event in Craven this July. Fans attending Country Thunder will have free admission to this event, located in a separate tent on 'main street' at Country Thunder.
Saskatchewan-based singer/songwriters are invited to submit for a spot. The stage will run each afternoon from July 10-12, with artists taking turns performing original songs during the 90-minute afternoon show.
These are paid performances and must be acoustic-style solo or duo only (voices and instruments) - generally, this is represented by a vocalist with acoustic guitar or piano. Pre-recorded backing tracks are not suitable for this event.
Artists sought for this event have current singles to promote, current or past chart activity, and/or related recent tour activity, or are established songwriters. Focus is on country, root, folk, bluegrass, and pop, with songs that will work in a stripped-down, singer/songwriter format. Please ensure your website is up to date.
This call is open exclusively to current SaskMusic members. A list of recommended artists will be curated by SaskMusic with final lineup decisions by Country Thunder. Country Thunder may also add non-Sask artists to this bill.
Indigenous, Black, LGBTQIA2S+ and artists from other underrepresented communities are encouraged to apply.
The application form works best when completed using a desktop computer.
