SCMA – 306 Songwriter Circle Series

SCMA – 306 Songwriter Circle Series

Note - Opportunity is for SCMA Members Only!

Deadline: June 15, 2025

The Saskatchewan Country Music Association is pleased to announce new performance opportunities for SCMA members.

Series Vision: Throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall of 2025, the SCMA will facilitate songwriter rounds in various communities throughout the province. The general format will be flexible with a host and a few local artists (ranging from veterans to less-experienced) sharing mostly original songs and the stories behind them.

In total, the approximate number of songs is about 20 for the evening with each artist taking a turn before "handing off" to the next artist. Most often there are two rounds with a short break in-between. Performances are acoustic with the artists sharing 3-5 songs usually accompanying themselves. Artists who do not play an instrument can bring a person along to accompany them.

The SCMA will provide a sound system to use and offer small honoraria to performing artists. (for admission, ticket prices will be as follows: "$20 Suggested Donation at the Door with all proceeds going to the artists")

Goals: The objective of the SCMA - 306 Songwriter Series is to give opportunities for artists throughout the province at every level a chance to engage with their peers, in front of receptive audiences in a relaxed "listening room" sort of atmosphere.
