Singer/songwriter’s Laura Lee’s interest in fundamental human emotions is reflected in the lyrics of her rootsy and melodic collection of 8 songs on her debut release. The 1950s-inspired “Long Way Back to Me” has already received attention, with semi-finalist recognition in the renowned International Songwriting Competition. Laura explains, “I like to capture people’s stories. They are all unique, but recognizing the commonalities helps us feel not so alone.” Honest musicianship, authentic production and spectacular music, combined with influences such as Lucinda Williams and Emmylou Harris, are illustrated here.
