Candle Lake SK’s Jim McKillop is a singer-songwriter with tales steeped in history, the natural world, and personal experience with love, joy, loss, grief, as well as frustrations with modernity. Touching Smoke, Jim’s debut album, is a collection of 12 tunes curated by Jim and an assortment of talented Saskatchewan musicians - Rich McFarlane, Eric Jonasson, Sheldon Corbett, and his brother Cam McKillop, incorporating such instruments as mandolin, dobro, slide guitar, accordion, organ, trumpet, drums, double bass, and more, to create an a folk album rich is instrumentation as well as storytelling.
