It Ain't What It Seems

Eliza Mary Doyle

September 2016

Doyle’s debut full-length takes a more serious and intimate approach than some of her past work on stage as a high-energy banjo player. Eliza plays banjo, guitar, dobro, and sings on the album, which encompasses an array of styles and emotion, ranging from boot stompin’, banjo kickin’, kitchen party tunes to vulnerable, impetuous, heart-strung ballads, but all within the indie folk/roots genre, with country and bluegrass undertones. Doyle’s interest in people’s lives - and specifically, in their untold stories of hardships, trials, and tribulations - is beautifully captured on this album. Recorded at: Stackwall Studios, Big River. Produced by: Eliza Doyle, Paula McGuigan, and Liza Holder.
